Apurba Mahapatra

Doctoral Student

B.Sc, M.Sc, B.Ed

CSIR-NET,GATE,JEST

Emailmahapatraapurba@gmail.com, 517ph1012@nitrkl.ac.in

Apurba joined Department of Physics & Astronomy, NIT Rourkela in July 2017. He completed his B.Sc and M.Sc in Physics from Vidyasagar University, West Bengal in 2013 and 2015 respectively. Before joining the Ph.D. program at NIT Rourkela, he completed his B.Ed from Maharshi Dayanand University, Haryana in 2017. He has qualified competitive exams like CSIR-NET (June 2017 LS-AIR 84, June 2018 LS-AIR 9), GATE 2015, JAM 2013 and JEST 2015 (AIR-149). His research focuses on the electrical and optical study of metal halide Perovskites thin films and single crystals for photovoltaic applications.

His research focuses on the effect of the surface and bulk passivation, ion migration and the influence of surface roughness of halide perovskites single crystals and solar cells. He is trying to understand how all the relevant parameters and interface of PSCs affect the performance and stability of the devices. He is also involved in synthesizing single crystals of halide Perovskites. His research enables us to understand the effect of ion migration inside the perovskite crystals using Electrochemical Impedance Spectroscopy. Apurba published eleven international papers (such as RSC, AIP, ACS, MDPI, IOP & PAC Journals etc.). He mentored several Master students for their research projects in our Lab.
